Nelson Piquet
Nelson Piquet is een voormalig Formule 1-coureur uit Brazilië, geboren op 17 augustus 1952. Hij staat bekend als een van de meest succesvolle coureurs in de geschiedenis van de motorsport, met drie wereldkampioenschappen achter zijn naam. Piquet begon zijn carrière in de kartsport en maakte al snel de overstap naar de autosport, waar hij indruk maakte in verschillende raceklassen voordat hij in 1978 debuteerde in de Formule 1.
Piquet reed voor verschillende teams, waaronder Brabham, waar hij zijn grootste successen behaalde. Zijn technische kennis en vermogen om de grenzen van de auto te verkennen maakten hem tot een geduchte concurrent op het circuit. Na zijn afscheid van de Formule 1 in 1991 bleef hij actief in de autosport, maar zijn legendarische status als pionier en innovator in de racerij blijft tot op de dag van vandaag gerespecteerd.

Progressie op het circuit
Hoeveel progressie wordt er per jaar geboekt? Dit wordt bepaald op basis van kwalificatietijd, racetijd (indien beschikbaar) en eindpositie. Het paarse icoontje geeft aan welke coureur op dat circuit de meeste vooruitgang heeft geboekt.
Om de progressie te meten, wordt gekeken naar races uit het laatste of huidige seizoen en of deze ook in voorgaande seizoenen zijn verreden.
Factoren zoals regen, gele en rode vlaggen kunnen uiteraard altijd invloed hebben op het resultaat.
